1. Data We Collect
- Email address and hashed password (for authentication)
- Portfolio data you enter (holdings, transactions, watchlists)
- Usage data (page views, features used) for improving the service
- Payment information is processed by Stripe — we do not store card details
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the portfolio tracking service
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To send transactional emails (password resets, account notifications)
- To improve the service based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Stripe (payment processing)
- OpenAI (AI research features — only stock symbols and market data, not personal info)
- Market data providers (only ticker symbols for price queries)
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored on our servers. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Sessions expire after 30 days.
5. Your Rights
- Access your data at any time through the app
- Export your portfolio data as CSV
- Delete your account and all associated data from Settings
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us
6. Cookies
We use a single session cookie (portfoliotracker_session) for authentication. It is HTTP-only, secure, and not used for tracking or advertising.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the app.
